OUR HISTORY
SSS Recompression Network opened the new Koh Tao Evacuation Center in August 2002. The new facility allowed Koh Samui to expand its operations and install primary care facilities, medical consultation and evacuation service for both tourists and local community residents.
The facility has western Dive Medical Technicians (DMT’s), on staff who are also dive instructors and a consulting Physician who has been trained by an accredited international association in hyperbaric and diving medicine. Its primary aim is to assess patients who have suspected decompression illness (DCI), and recommend further evaluation if necessary to the Koh Samui multiplace recompression chamber. In the event of emergencies the staff is trained and is capable of stabilizing patients and evacuating them via a fully dedicated and equipped speedboat or Helicopter to either the recompression chamber or Thai International Hospital on Koh Samui. This is the first and only service of its kind for the island. As well as providing these services, much time and effort is invested into the education and training of the local professional divers in subjects such as dive Accident Management, Oxygen Provision and general dive safety.

If you are visiting Koh Tao and would like to visit our facility, you are welcome!
However, for actual chamber tours, refer to our Koh Samui facility. Tours are free and can be arranged through this office. We do ask that you contact us during normal business hours by phone to arrange an appropriate time to ensure patient treatments are not being conducted.
ABOUT US /COMMUNITY SERVICE
The SSS Network Koh Tao Outpost works with the Koh Tao Diving, Medical, and Rescue communities in a number of ways. We sponsor seminars and training programs on a regular basis to our local dive operators, and host seminars on rescue and dive medicine topics.

OUR STAFF
The SSS out post has recently been relocated 100m up the main street in Mae Haad town to the Thai International Clinic, which is staffed on a 24 Hour Emergency Basis and has Thai nurses & doctors available. Our Western DMT teams of full time professionals are trained in areas of pre-hospital emergency and hyperbaric medicine management and are available 24hrs a day for pre & post dive queries/advice. While each member of staff often performs a variety of duties, chief among them are Diving and Emergency Medical Technicians (DMT’s/ Paramedics/Trauma nurses).
All staff have been internationally trained and received certifications from leading organizations for Diving and Hyperbaric Medicine. Some of these include the Diving and Disease Research Center (DDRC) in the UK, the Royal Adelaide Hospital in Australia (RAH), the Undersea & Hyperbaric Medicine Society (UHMS), Hyperbaroics International (USA), and the Divers Alert Network (DAN).
The clinic is part of the international SSS Network, a global hyperbaric medicine provider, and operated by Hyperbaric Services of Thailand, (HST)

OUR FACILITY & EQUIPMENT

This is the first and only service of its kind for the area.
